​Horizon GreenTech Ventures was formed as a strategic investment alliance by three organizations, G.E. (Alstom), Rotem Industries and Gefen Investments, taking advantage of synergetic scientific, technological, industrial and business expertise within the green & smart energy & mobility markets.

Rotem Industries Ltd is a diversified technology-oriented company with headquarters in the south of Israel. Rotem specializes in evaluating seed technologies, bringing them to market readiness and commercializing the resulting products. The company specializes in the commercialization of advanced and innovative technologies and science. Founded in early 1980’s, the company has been mandated to implement and commercialize state-of-the-art marketable innovations, reaping the technical harvest of scientific research, for the benefit of research, industrial and commercial communities worldwide.

 

With experienced and professional teams of scientists, engineers and marketing orientated management, our organization has established profitable business and technological relationships with strategic partners, distributors, academic institutions, governmental institutions and defense entities.

Gefen Biomed Investment is an investment company in the field of life sciences, primarily active in the medical device, cleantech and biotechnology sectors.

Gefen is traded on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. Gefen’s risk management is accomplished through leverage of government funding of OCS’ Incubator Program and additional programs.

GE (Alstom) provides a broad array of power generation, energy delivery and water process technologies that solve local challenges. GE works in several areas of the energy industry, including renewable resources such as wind and solar, biogas and alternative fuels, coal, oil, natural gas and nuclear energy. 

The Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) of Israel’s Ministry of Economy is the support arm of the Israeli government, charged with fostering the development of industrial R&D within the State of Israel. Its mission is to assist the advancement of Israel's knowledge-based science and technology industries in order to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship while stimulating economic growth.

Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) has established an internal venture unit, currently named KARAT (the Hebrew acronym for "Accelerating Technological Ideas") which provides a framework of investment and support services to develop, advance, and commercialize innovative ideas in energy-related fields.

This initiative follows the growing global need for solutions of "green" (clean) electric energy, lower energy costs, and higher system efficiency, with the objective of decreasing global dependency on carbon fuels.

KARAT invites entrepreneurs, “innovators,” inventors, and others to submit ideas and proposals in energy-related fields. Selected proposals are nurtured to become early stage business ventures which operate within the KARAT framework. They receive financial support, access to IEC's large pool of experts, access to a live electric network for validation and testing, business development services, access to global strategic partners and other required assistance in order to achieve commercial success.

Q3 ENERGIEELEKTRONIK GmbH & Co. KG is since the beginning of 2015 part of the company Braun Elektronik plus Feinwerktechnik GmbH and since then operating as Q3 ENERGIE GmbH & Co. KG.

Q3 ENERGIE GmbH & Co. KG develops, manufactures and sells electronic devices, especially in the field of renewable energy. Q3 has its own R&D Department. Highly qualified and experienced engineers ensure that the products are durable and robust. The further goal is to achieve highest performances of the PV plants. In addition to the development of own products, Q3 together with cooperation partners modifies proven technology in order to fit it to Q3’S quality standards and achievement – oriented product concept. Thus Q3 ensures that only technical mature products get onto the market. The plant operator can be sure to get a durable system, which secures a sustained profit.

Q3 also cooperates with certified system partners, who are especially selected and trained. In addition to a qualified system planning and customer-oriented consulting, the Q3 system partners also provide quick and competent service.

Q3 employs currently 70 people and had a turnover of €10 million in 2014.


Solutronic energy GmbH conducts research, develops, produces and distributes individual technologies and service solutions for domestic households and industrial applications. Our employees are working on energy solutions for the future in an area covering over 1,200 m² at our company headquarters in Unterensingen near Stuttgart. We are working with partners in the solar industry in over 20 countries, especially in Europe and Asia, to ensure we can supply the international market.
In 2016, the company was given the BMM (Best Management in Medium-Sized Companies) award in the category of “Best newcomer” of the year by Manufacture for Leadership in Medium-Sized Enterprises, registered charity. The charity was hereby recognising the company for its excellent and above average leadership.
